What am I doing wrong?!

So I bought a set of chrome fork dust boot cover, but they wont fit over the rubber boots! The boot covers are for 35mm Showa forks, which is what I have, and the chrome covers claim to be for 35mm forks. Did I waste my money?

Isn’t the chrome fork cover supposed to replace the rubber boot cover? They don’t work in conjunction I would imagine.

Thanks for your reply. As far as I knew, it was supposed to go over top of the rubber boot. It’s much too big to fit on without the rubber boot, but too small to fit on with the rubber boot.

Chrome covers you have are evidently for Kayaba forks. You have Showa forks, and the correct rubber boots. Both brands of forks are "35 mm" forks, but the Kayaba forks have smaller diameter rubber boots.
