A Twist on a CX500 Café

So this is my 1982 CX500. I've seen a lot of these CX's being cafe'd and to be honest I'm a bit late to the party. I always wanted to do something a little different so I went for a single sided swingarm. I also like to see the rear and front wheel matching so this set are from a BMW.

Exhausts - I plan to make from raw stainless, they can then colour as they like with a single silencer slung under the engine.

Can't help thinking how nice it would be to ride if it had a turbo and electronic fuel management. How much wheelbase did than swing arm add?

Well, lets not forget that Honda did put a turbo on a CX and look how that turned out!

I am a big fan of carbs though so no fuel injection on this bike.

Wheelbase is actually 20mm shorter than stock with the single sider swing arm even though it kind of looks long in the pic.

I rode a 650 turbo and in hindsight should have bought it because I could have sold the new mufflers for more than the asking price. It felt a bit primitive & heavy to me and lacking boost a bit too as I recall but I could definitely see the potential there for something great.
