  • Should I sell my EFI Sportster and get something older?

I was wanting to clean up my handlebars not really chop the wiring harness just tidy it up more and delete my pod controls for mini switches and a keyed ignition switch but with all the tsm bypassing I read about and all the sensors and shit I'm not sure about it.

I'd be cutting off the connectors for the speedo and signals etc, so I couldn't check codes, not that I really care too much but good to have. If I change exhausts I might need to remap with a tuner, but I wouldn't be able to with everything chopped off It just seems like an extra hassle and parts and tuners, etc for efi bikes cost more. I might just be overthinking it and wirings not my thing anyway.

The bikes not chopped and I don't plan on chopping it. it's just setup like a norcal sportster and something always ready to ride but I might be better off putting everything back to stock and selling the bike and getting an older Sportster or a Shovelhead project to make into an actual chopper. I just can't decide what to do so I need some opinions. What would you do?

Thanks TriNortchopz, you're always good help. I think I'll keep the bike and finish wiring it. I already got too much in it to sell and come out close to even and it's a low mile bike so it should have a Lotta life left. I'm just overthinking it. Alot of the diagrams people have made have been removed because of photobucket so I'll just have to search some more and come up with my own idea of one. I have a manual to go by so shouldn't be too bad.
