..... Eve's Side of the Story .....
After three weeks in the Garden of Eden, God came to visit Eve. So, how is everything going?" inquired God.
It's all so beautiful" she replied. "Everything is wonderful, but I have one problem. It's these breasts you've given me. The middle one pushes the other two out and I'm constantly knocking them with my arms."
She went on to tell Him that since many other parts of her body came in pairs, such as her limbs, eyes, ears, etc .....she felt that having only two breasts might leave her body more"symmetrically balanced," as she put it.
"That is a fair point, but it was my first shot at this, you know. I gave the animals six breasts, so I figured that you needed only half of those, but I see that you are right. I will fix it up right away." And He reached down, removed the middle breast and tossed it into the bushes.
Three weeks passed and God once again visited Eve in the Garden of Eden.
"Well, Eve, how is my favorite creation?"
Just fantastic," she replied, "But for one oversight on your part. You see, all the animals are paired off. The ewe has a ram and the cow has her bull. All the animals have a mate except me. I feel so alone."
God thought for a moment and said, "You know, Eve, you are right. How could I have overlooked this? You do need a mate and I will immediately create a man from a part of you. Now let's see ...........where did I put that useless boob ?"

Also the taillights and backup lights came from the same truck ..
Bumper will see a bit of TLC and powder coated ....
May install LED's taillights made for 68-72 Chevy srep-side or attempt to convert the IH lights to LED's .. ??
.Hadn't gave much thought on what to do to the bed just yet, will be getting to that part of the build soon ...

Been trying to find a set of NOS lenes ...
So far I had no luck with the hunt ..
Do like seeing the IH logo on em ... What I have is weather checked badly .. (55 years old)
Think the 67-72 Chevy's are the same size ??
If so, I'll be able to keep the IH housings and install just the Chevy lens that have 41 LEDs ..
Guess I will order one and see what there is to see ..
(Won't be seeing the IH logo for dang sure, but it ain't no biggie)

Shop next door has a 72 step side, I took the tail light lens and compared it to the IH lens ...
Mega diff. between the two ..
Going to keep the hunt up for the IH lens until it's time to nail them down on the truck ...
If I haven't found em by then, I'll get the complete lights for the Chevy ...

farmall showed up today .. He helped me with the bumper ...
With our combined efforts, we netted a very professional job ..
Not going to have it chromed ...
And the marriage of the donor end pieces will be hidden behind the "Dagmar's"
So there is no need to make the crack (Wait for it) look nice ...
Did spend a wee bit of time dressing the welds, just in case I change my mind in the future .. ??
Now about that crack .....
(Take a sack full of welding rods to fill up that one !!)

That was good mechanic fun and Drag is excellent to work with. I picked up my Pan stuff so pics to follow eventually.
Anyone else splicing old bumpers like these should keep the bumper on the truck to align the sections because they are not precision parts and the front clip provides all the references you need but would lose on the workbench. Those little Harbor Freight clamps work a treat but the overall fiddlefuckery goes much faster with extra hands to hold the outboard sections while clamping the joint.
The work involved was a lot more than it might appear because automotive beauty is an optical illusion.
Compound curved parts meant extending them by splicing required heating by OA torch (small hot flame) and thoughtful beating (have a square handy) to match up. The Dagmars were a very good idea.
Drag showed me a handy trick to find low and high spots by running a sanding disk over questionable areas which lets ya see discontinuities the eye might otherwise miss. I'd have thought to do it if were painting which is normal, but it works for shallow dent highlighting on bare metal too.
The S&S Drag tricked out with dual Thunderjets and much more (and much time buffing and polishing) looks even better in person. Smoothification of other stuff around the shop like various cast iron big twin cylinders ditto. It should work nicely on his Pan.Last edited by farmall; 06-10-2023, 6:41 AM.Comment
